clearus is a self-help and cognitive training tool designed to help you examine your own thinking through guided Socratic questioning. It is built to promote self-awareness, logical clarity, and personal growth. clearus identifies logical fallacies in your reasoning and detects implicit biases in your thinking patterns over time, helping you see what your mind does beneath conscious awareness.
clearus is not a therapy application, a mental health service, a medical device, or a substitute for professional mental health treatment. It does not diagnose, treat, or manage any mental health condition. It is not operated by licensed therapists, counselors, psychologists, or psychiatrists. No therapist-patient or doctor-patient relationship is created by using clearus.

clearus uses artificial intelligence — specifically, language models provided by Anthropic — to ask you questions about your thinking. It scores the logical clarity of your responses, tracks patterns of logical fallacies, and detects implicit biases in your reasoning over time. All scoring, fallacy detection, and bias detection are generated by a third-party AI model and are not clinical assessments. They are tools for self-reflection only. AI-generated scores and observations may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inconsistent between sessions.
clearus stores your session history, scores, and progress locally on your device only using your browser's localStorage. We do not store your conversation content on any server.
When you create a clearus account, we store your email address and an encrypted password to manage your login. If you subscribe to clearus Pro, we also store your subscription status. We do not store your conversations, session data, scores, or any content from your use of clearus.
If you upgrade to clearus Pro, your payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your payment details, billing address, or credit card information. Your billing information is held by Stripe according to their privacy policy.
Your conversation text is sent to Anthropic's API to generate responses during active sessions. This data is processed according to Anthropic's Privacy Policy. clearus does not log, store, or retain your conversation content after the session ends.
We do not use cookies for tracking, advertising pixels, or analytics. We do not sell, share, or monetize any user data. The only cookies used are functional session cookies required for account authentication.

You retain full ownership of everything you type into clearus. We claim no rights over your conversation content, session data, or any user-generated text. clearus's AI-generated responses, scoring system, and the underlying system prompt are the intellectual property of clearus and its creator.
clearus offers a free tier (3 sessions, lifetime) and a Pro subscription ($9.99/month). Pro subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe and renew automatically until canceled.
Cancellation: You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you will retain Pro access until then. To cancel, contact contact@clearus.ai or manage your subscription through Stripe's customer portal.
Refunds: Because clearus provides immediate access to its full service upon subscription, refunds are generally not offered. If you believe you were charged in error or experience a technical issue that prevented you from using the service, contact contact@clearus.ai and we will review your case.
Lapsed subscriptions: If your subscription expires or payment fails, your account will revert to the free tier. Your locally stored session history and progress will remain on your device, but you will no longer be able to start new Pro sessions until you resubscribe.
You are solely responsible for any decisions you make during or after using clearus. The questions asked and observations made by clearus are generated by AI and may not account for the full context of your situation. Major life decisions should always involve consultation with qualified professionals and the people who may be affected.
clearus is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any AI-generated content. clearus may occasionally produce responses that are incorrect, incomplete, or inappropriate. Service availability is not guaranteed and may be interrupted for maintenance or due to third-party service outages.
You must be at least 18 years of age to use clearus. By accepting these terms, you confirm that you are 18 or older.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, clearus, its creator, and any affiliated parties shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of this application, including but not limited to decisions made based on conversations with clearus, reliance on AI-generated scores or observations, or interruptions in service.
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of clearus shall be resolved in the courts located in Travis County, Texas.
These terms may be updated from time to time. If we make material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify active subscribers via email or through a notice within the application. Continued use of clearus after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We encourage you to review these terms periodically.
